GEISHA GIRL IS SPUN OUT!!

I HAD SO MUCH FUN CREATING THIS YARN... I JUST CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT SHE BECOMES... Geisha Girl is bursting with personality, reminisient of her namesake, & I'm going to find it hard to part with her!
I had a Geisha Girl doll given to me when I was about 9 years old by my grandma. I remember she wore a stunning red dress with gold trim & tiny shoes, her face was white & her hair so black. She lived in a plastic cylinder on a plinth on my shelf. She was very other-worldly to me, exotic, enchanting. Every now & then I would carefully prise off the cylinder so I could touch her thick straight hair & feel the fabric of her gown. I revered her. I was never quite sure if I was actually allowed to touch her, living inside a plastic cylinder gave her a certain air of distance, exalting her to some kind of royal status, yet i longed to befriend her. She needed some warmth, to be held.

When I saw these colours drying by the fire I just new the fleece had to become a Geisha Girl, one that is to be adorned & adored. See also this post.

Geisha Girl is super soft fine Australian Merino, with sari silk throwsters fiber & cotton fabric strips with a few Geisha prints to adorn what will become a simply stunning piece of fabric I am certain!

She is in my etsy store!... and has just been given a new home *-*

I promise to take good care of her! I can already visualise how stunning she will look at as scarf, long and loose and lace like to show off all her lovelyness. When my grandmother passed away when I was 7, I inherited her Geisha girl music box. She stood high on her pedestal and turned to the music. I was enchanted by it and my grandmother would tell me stories about her and her travels to Japan. Such special memories!
And incidently she still stands on my bedside today :)
